History

Drink for Charity Inc. was formed for its first event on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Still Bar & Restaurant near Manhattan’s Union Square. The event was a resounding success with over 100 people in attendance. In addition to the door charge, DFC raised additional proceeds from t-shirt and other merchandise sales. In total, the event profited $2,000 cash which was immediately donated to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Food for the Hungry, a Phoenix, Arizona-based organization. Based on the success of the first event, the idea for forming a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for charity by hosting social events was born.

Since then Drink for Charity has held over a dozen events and has been officially incorporated as a non-profit corporation in the State of New Jersey. A board of six directors oversees the organization's day-to-day operations.
